The man who won the heart of lady fans through the flicks ‘Roja’ and Bombay’ gears up for a comeback.
Yup! Arvind Swamy will mark his second coming to the film industry in ‘father’ role in Maniratnam’s latest movie ‘Pookadai’. Earlier he was invited to act in Vishal’s ‘Samaaran’ but he refused the offer saying he did not wish to return to the industry.
However, Arvind Swamy could not decline the call from Maniratnam who is considered to be Swami’s Godfather. Arvind made his debut to Kollywood through Maniratnam’s ‘Dalapathy’. The Maniratnam films Roja and Bombay that were also released in Hindi made Arvind famous all over India. The actor had also did a superb performance in the Malayalam film Devaragam directed by Bharathan.
It is reported that Swami will don the father role of either the hero Karthik or the heroine Samantha in ‘Pookadai’. Arjun, Sarjja and Lakshmi Manju also play important role in the film. Music maestro A.R. Rahman composes the music and Ravi K. Chandran cranks the camera in the film.
