Mumbai Film festival’s curtain raises today.

12th Mumbai Film Festival will begin today. The inauguration ceremony will be held at the National Centre for Performing Arts in which the Maharashtra Governor K. Shankaranarayanan will be the chief guest.
Union State Minister for Information and Broadcasting C.M. Jatva, Documentary filmmaker Vijay Mule, Festival Director Shankar Mohan and Festival coordinator Anilkumar will also be present on the occasion.
The main attraction of the function will be a programme by Unnikrishnan Pakkanar called ‘Mulapadum Ravu’. The one week-long festival will screen 101 films including forty foreign films. The films’ duration spans from 33 seconds to 200 minutes. This year the prize money for bagging the best film award has been doubled to Rs.63.5 lakhs.
There are eight Indian films in the competition section.
