Music director K. Raghavan master will enter the Guinness book of
world records for being the oldest music composer in the world after
the release of the film ‘Balyakalasakhi’.
The veteran music director
who is ninety seven year old has composed the song
‘Thamarapoonkavanathil Thamasikkunnole’ which is rendered by music
maestro K.J. Yesudas.
‘Balyakalasakhi’ is the independent adaptation
of Vaikom Mohammad Basheer’s famous novel in the same name. The song
which was referred in the novel by Basheer is written by his closest
friend K.T. Mohammad.
K. Raghavan master along with Baburaj is often credited for the
renaissance of Malayalam film music. Master gave a new direction and
identity to Malayalam film music. As he searched for the right tune
for the lyrics, little did K. Raghavan realize that he was about to
compose history. Master had composed around 400 songs in Malayalam
cinema in the last active four decades. Raghavan himself set a trend
in film music with the release of 1954 movie ‘Neelakkuyil’.
