“Padmashree Bharath Dr.Sarojkumar” directed by Sajin Raaghavan and scripted by Sreenivasan who himself acts in the main role, is a satirical movie supposedly ridiculing the super stars.
To add to the controversy, it is revealed that S.Kumar, the cinematographer, has received threatening telephone calls from Antony Perumbavoor, producer and a constant companion of Mohanlal. The revelation was by S.Kumar himself during a channel interview. Antony talked rudely to Kumar accusing that the picture had portrayed Mohanlal in a deprecating manner and added that he will respond appropriately to Sreenivasan. Antony went on to state that if needed, he will produce a movie based on a character similar to Sreenivasan with Santhosh Pandit as the main character.
There is already an opinion that the movie has crossed all limits in mocking the super stars but the actor and script writer Sreenivasan affirms that he had no such intention to belittle anyone while writing the script. He said it was no big deal if someone tried to intimidate over the phone while responding in a channel show.
The movie released on January 14 and Sreenivasan as the protagonist has the same manners and behavior as in the earlier film.
Mukesh, Jagathy Sreekumar, Salim Kumar and others who were in “Udayananu Tharam” will be seen in “Padmashree Bharath Dr.Sarojkumar” as well. Mamtha is the heroine, and Vineeth Srinivas, Fahad Fazil and Suraj Venjarumoodu play important roles. The film is produced by Vaishaka Rajan under the banner of Vaishaka Cinema. The blackmail attempt has, however, raised a huge controversy in the film circles.
