"Spirit" brings Mohanlal and Ranjith together again !

There is a thawing of the relationship between Mohanlal and director Ranjith and the two who combined to produce so many hits, are back together after a gap of four years.
Their new movie with Mohanlal in the protagonist’s role will start shooting on the 10th of March at Thiruvananthapuram, said director Ranjith. The movie is titled “Spirit”. The last film produced by the two together was “Rock and Roll” released in 2007. Antony Perumbavoor has played a major role in restoring their friendship and after Mohanlal talked to Ranjith, all the misunderstandings and resentments were set to rest.
“Spirit” will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirwad Cinemas. All indications point to an actress from Bollywood playing opposite Mohanlal.
After “Rock and Roll” with Mohanlal, Ranjith directed “Kayyoppu”, “Paleri Manikyam Oru Pathira Kolapathakathinte Katha” and “Pranchiyettan and the Saint” with Mammootty as the hero and all turned mind catchers to viewers. And his last film was “Indian Rupee” with Prithviraj.
Ranjith, in an interview with a prominent newspaper, had expressed his desire to do a movie with Mohanlal who has to his credit such memorable roles as Mangalassery Neelakantan, Indhuchudan, Jaganathan and Karthikeyan while working with Ranjith. It is understood that Lal has quite a different role in “Spirit”.
The work on R.Unni’s “Leela” which was announced earlier, has been temporarily postponed to start work on “Spirit”.
