"Angane Thudangi" movie takes off with John(Ashish Vidyarthi) kidnapping Goutham (Nani). On the journey, John asks Gautham to entertain him with his story and his narration leads to flashback. Goutham tells how he meets Nitya (Nitya Menon) and falls in love with her accidentally. While Goutham thinks of expressing his love, he discovers Nitya already has a fiancé (Chaitanya). Goutham stops communicating to her leads his life. Nitya later discovers she is in love with Goutham and breaks her relationship with her fiance but discovers Gautham had a fiancé Kavya (Sneha ullal). What will Nitya do then? Will Goutham and Nitya unite? Why did john kidnap Goutham forms the rest of the story.
Nani is completely natural, at home while playing the character of Gowtam. He has also shown different variations. His voice is an asset and he used it effectively. Nitya Menon should be lucky to get a role that has lots of substance in it. She epitomized Nitya character with her fabulous performance. She looks beautiful in all kinds of dresses. Nitya Menon’s is the best debut in recent years of Telugu cinema after Samantha in YMC. She dubbed her voice and it suited the character to the tee. Sneha Ullal had a reasonable length character and she is fine. Kriti Karbandha and Chaitanya Krishna did cameos. Rohini and Uppalapati Narayana Rao (film director) adds freshness to parents characters. The friends gang of hero (Mirchi Hemantha, Raja Valluru, Pinky and Rhea) is also appropriately cast. Aashish Vidyardhi gave a balanced performance in a crazy character. The guy who did the the role of drunkard software engineer in climax breathed life into the scenes.
Nandini has ensured that this 'complex' ride is fun and entertaining. It's refreshing to watch the lead pair of Nani and Nithya who are so natural that it looks that they are living their roles. The film itself has the humour element woven in and not sticking out like a sore thumb. Gone are the usual band of comedians and instead you have the hero, heroine, their friends and family trying to make you laugh. In fact there's a gamut of emotions as there is action, romance etc. Nandini has induced certain newness which makes for a pleasant watch.
First half of the movie is decent and has sufficient humor though there is no emotional impact. Second half becomes slow-paced, but picks up towards the end. The plus points of the movie are casting and humor.
On technical front, the movie is dogged by bad visuals (whether it is due to bad grading, or bad digital transfer to UFO is not known). Arjun Jena 's camera work is unimpressive. Two songs by Kalyani Malik are good to ears. Lakshmi Bhoopal' s dialogue is effective. As a director Nandini Reddy shows spark in handling comedy scenes. Like her guru, she has also extracted some cute expressions from the heroine. Unlike other women directors in the past, she has brought urbane look to the story narration.
Overall "Angane Thudangi" is Fun Entertainer !
Verdict:A Decent Entertainer !!
