My Dear Kuttichathan, the first Indian 3D movie, directed by Jijo Punnoose ,released again on August 31st with a digital reprisal, and will have twenty five minutes added to it, which comprised of new scenarios and effects. Even though the old version was made for children, the adults too enjoyed the 3-D fantasy. The new digital version is certain to draw adults, in addition to children, considering it has a well-known cast comprising Prakash Raj, Santhanam, Harish Kumar and Urmila Matondkar.
The movie starts with a peppy number that will definitely make it to the various countdowns and addition scenes of Prakash Raj. Three children befriends a friendly ghost who is named as Kuttichathan .Chathan gives what ever the children wants. A cruel magician (Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair) wants chathan as his slave to lay hands on a treasure. Even though magician is a owner of chathan, he is burnt and killed by chathan in the climax because of his cruelty. Chathan turns into a bat and flies away. Chathan's friends fall into sad and they going back with a hope Chathan will come back again. On that time Urmila(another magician) gets chathan and keep it with her.
The songs by Ilayaraja and new mixing by Shareth are likely to be a visual treat with a lot of special effects. Digital version is way too cliched in some places to appreciate it as a cohesive work.Performance wise all in cast is perfect. Dialogues are simple and understandable to kids as well as matured types. Even if 'My Dear Kuttichathan' is targeted at the kids, it takes its audience too lightly. Audience still wonder about the old creation, even though many 3d films are releasing nowadays. 'My Dear Kuttichathan' still Wonders All!
